  • Greetings from Texas!

Sure am glad I found this corner of the world. A few weeks back somehow decided I wanted to start making pizza at home for me and the family. Used to make pizza at a joint in high school (30 years ago!) and have good memories of that. Actually made my first pizzas yesterday (a few hand-tossed, and a Sicilian) and they came out very nice.

No specialty oven currently, only my kitchen Whirlpool. Very much interested in these wood-burning ovens!

    Looking forward to learning here.

    Alan,

Welcome to the forum! If wood oven cooking is an interest, there is lots to learn on this forum.

Alan, if you have gone this far - you are hooked! I'm thinking that your build will start before March. Welcome aboard to the obsession.

I like your thinking, Les! Just now starting to go through the downloaded plans, for "pleasure reading". Fire good.

This is gonna be a blast!

              Re: Greetings from Texas!

Always nice to welcome another Texan Alan! I am up near Dallas, east of there a bit specifically. I have only just begun an oven, and the outdoor kitchen that will fit around it. Spend a bit of time on this forum and follow a few of the build threads all the way through, and you get a pretty good feel for what is involved in building an oven. If you have not decided you want to do one for yourself, you will shortly

              Welcome,
