I'm a newbie to ovens, and found you by searching for vermiculite board. I was at a fair earlier this month, and saw a food booth there making some good pizza in a wood-fired oven built on a trailer. I'd like to build one, too!

I have a nice granite slab I'd like to use as the hearth.

Welcome! It would be great to see another mobile oven come to life. Share pictures during the build and don't be afraid to ask questions! Just don't use granite for the oven floor, as it can't take direct flames.

Granite chips and pops with direct exposure to fire: Not recommended for the cooking floor, fine for the landing.
