When I finish Im going to start a blog called "Hindsight" and your point will be one of them. Spent more than half the day just doing this last course and it the smallest of them all. Probably clocked up 2-3km just going from the shed and back taking one more cut and another cut........
In the end am happy and have a keystone that locks against all 7 bricks. Will have to climb into the oven tomorrow to see how it looks.
Today did final patch and inspection inside after removing the arch supports and the ply inside supporting the floor and indespensible tool.
Mounted the vent support, and chimney.
Put a portable heater in for 6 hours.
Lit the first dryout fire at about 1600 for 4hours. Only a small fire fueled by my desire to go get another beer. It didnt stop the girls from cooking marshmellows (although not the way that I like them). So first food wasnt pizza like the story book.
Got the outside top to about 50-60 degrees and have sealed it up for the night.
Congratulations Oz! Your work looks spectacular. Very nice and clean--shows the amount of work you put into it. Glad mine is already built or I might be intimidated--mine was "quick and dirty" construction but it works for me where I am. Yours will surely impress everyone. In no time you'll be enjoying that pizza (and well-earned beer) You'll love the taste of the food that comes out of the WFO.
The adventure ends its first chapter. Have finished the oven with the exception of a finishing coat of acrylic render (need to wait 28 days for the cement render to dry) and some large format pavers.
Have got the knack of the pizza dough the oven temperature and had my first go of bread.
