Hi.
I have an old back yard brick barbecue that I want to convert to an oven. It has a recessed fire area with 2 fire brick side walls and a rear and floor with a flue in the rear wall up to a chimney. The flue opening is about 12" above the floor. There was an area where the metal cooking grate was placed at the top. It's rectangular shaped. My idea is to brick in the front and top openings and install a door and create an oven. Could anyone comment on whether this makes sense or should I purchase an oven to fit into this space and call it a day?
