Are you checking with the right sources? A YellowPages.com search of "refractory suppliers" list many suppliers in Canton, E. Canton, Alliance, Sebring, and a Harbison-Walker location in Minerva - none of which are too far away (former 35 yr. Akronite here)
Hey, I had to go 50 miles away to get fair priced firebricks now that I am in FL.
Harbison Walker is probably the worlds largest refractory manufacturer - I almost guaranty they will have ceramic fiber blanket and rigid board insulation.

There are mail order places. I think there's a supplier who frequents ebay.
