Amount of fireclay?

Hi Folks,

Im beginning to put together the materials for building the dome. I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of the amount of fireclay i might need? Im looking to build a 38" dome, so will need enough to make the mortar for between the bricks and also for underneath the floor. The supplier i have sells them in 25kg bags. Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ross,
my 40" Pompeii consumed less than a 25 kg bag of fireclay when used in the poor mans mortar of 1:1:1:3, ie fireclay, portland cement, quicklime and brickie sand.
