  • Opening size if arched?

I am building a 42" Pompeii. My understanding is that the opening should be 20" wide (max) and 12.5" in height. I am making the opening arched, so does that mean 12.5" at the middle of the arch, or 12.5" at either end of the arch?

    Thanks!

    Re: Opening size if arched?

    Hi Jared
whatever size you make your opening is up to you.
The smaller and lower it is, the less you can insert through it and more difficult to work through BUT will hold more heat (or should I say will let less heat out).
The exact opposite applies for a wider and higher opening.
It is suggested that a 63% of tour dome height is recommended as max height.
My suggestion is to use your dimensions for the highest point of your arch and keep it as flat as practicable without sacrificing the look that you want to retain.

    Cheers.
