New oven build

Hi all,

So a complete newby to brick ovens,

I am wanting to build a 3" internal brick oven, and I am just wondering how many half bricks it will take roughly,

I understand it will differ due to my design and the orientation of bricks at the start etc. but any estimates out there?

My guess is that for a 3" internal oven it might take four or five full firebricks, depending on your flue configuration. It shouldn't take long to build, will be really easy on your fuel bill, but remember to insulate well.

Before I built my oven, I did a Cad layout for a 36 inch pompeii, and this thread:
