Wood Hearth Stand

Does anyone have an opinion or knowledge on leaving a wooden hearth stand under the hearth concrete pad once it has been poured? I built my stand with wooden joists and am planning on leaving the 3/4 inch plywood and wood 2x6 support beams in the storage area underneath. Many thanks.

I would not recommend ever using wood joists or any type of wood enclosure, as it can be a fire hazard. I would stick to metal or stone. Good Luck with you project!
