I am finally diving into this project. My question is would a six inch insulating hearth be sufficient. I plan on pouring the insulating hearth under the oven, surrounded by colored concrete counter. Both would be six inches thick. The fire brick floor would be on top of that. I was thinking a 8 to 1 ratio of either perilite or vermiculite
