  • Has Anyone used heavy duty firebrick with their pizza oven ?

i purchased some 9 x 4? x 3" Series JET DP High Duty Firebrick (High Duty Firebrick | Products | Alsey Refractories) last year and was hoping i could use it for my pizza oven. I understand the recommendation is medium/low duty bricks but i was wondering if anyone has actually tried the heavy duty ones in their build ?!?!
i know these bricks are rated for much higher temperatures than is required for the pizza.
    Anyone ?

Use them for the dome and get low duty bricks for the hearth.

That is what I am doing. I got some low duty bricks for the hearth as you don't want to have to high of a thermal conductivity or you will burn the bottom of what ever you are cooking before the top starts to cook. So I have some that are 30.78% alumina and I don't know the dome bricks % but I was told they were super duty so at least i know they will take whatever I give them, and for $2.20 each I thought it was a good deal.
