  • James - where did the Forno Bravo "Logo" come from?

    James,

I'm working on a beer label for my homebrew and would like to incorporate something with a WFO image on it. Where did you find the logo for the website?

    Thanks
    Dick

    Dick,

If you dig around on the net long enough, you'll find old woodcuts of wood-fired ovens. Attached here is one, but I've seen many more. Can't remember where I found it or what its copyright status might be.

I paid for a copy from a royalty-graphics service. Isn't it a cool graphic! The same picture is used by a wood-fired Biscotti company in Tuscany.

My source is a trade secret (hah hah), but send me an email and I can tell you where I found it.

        James,

I sent a message to you. My homebrew is good but not THAT good. This is just for "home" use and to be enjoyed by my family and friends with Pizza of courese.

        Jim,

Thanks - know these are called "woodcuts" might make the search easier.

        Thanks to you both.

            Dave,

I guess I cheat a little. I'm lucky in that a local beer supply shop sells their own homemade kits - grains, malt extract, hopes, yeast caps etc... I just have boil everything up, let it ferment and then bottle. I hope to get get into the FULL blown brewing eventually - mashing etc. but this is I nice compromise. Hey, I need to have time to build the oven this spring, right.

When I homebrew I like to brew the darker beers - something with a little flavor - porters, stouts etc...

            Happy holidays.

              Dave,

I don't know how far you've gone into the home brewing thing but I'd recommend visiting
The Home Brewery website. They sell equipment and supplies including some great kits. When I started brewing over a decade ago I used their kits and found they were tops for simplicity, variety of beer types as well as excellent results.

              Brew on!

                Stuart,

Thanks for the info. I'll check their website out. I am pretty lucky to have 2 brew stores nearby....

                Thanks and happy holidays.

Here's my source for homebrew supplies: MoreBeer | Welcome

Beerbeerandmorebeer.com used to be their website. I think that address still works too.

I bought my brewing sculpture from them.
