  • heat in house

My wife says now is the time for the oven to be built. We would like to build it into an outside wall of the house with the door inside in the kitchen and were concernd about the oven heating up the room in the summer. Any one know if this is a problem.

    Re: heat in house

A pizza oven, being well insulated, will not heat up on the exterior of the enclosure, but there will be a blast of radiant heat in front of the door when you are using it. That might be uncomfortable if it were directly facing another work area, but it's shouldn't make the kitchen unusable.

Our oven is built just as you describe, jjones. The inside wall remains cool to the touch even after firing the oven for two hours. But, as dmun says, there's a lot of radiant heat if you stand in front of the open door. We've used our oven in the summer and it's really not too bad.
