  • Ash Drop

When you look at an Allen Scott design, most of the ovens have an ash drop. Just curious as to why they are not incorporated on the pompeii style oven.

I considered it when building my oven, but I just couldn't see how it really made a lot of sense in the end in terms of usefulness. I take the ashes out on my peel and dump them in a metal trash can.

Agreed. I have then in my Scott ovens, and don't use them.

Thanks all - that was pretty much my opinion of them.
