Hello all,
My 32" pizza oven has been a work in progress for about the last month now.
As I am nearing the end I have not read any posts or instructions about finishing the inside of the dome and hearth.
My hearth sits on a bed of super fine silica sand and fire clay and is not mortar'd down but I seem to have made a substantial mess
on the inside of the dome and hearth floor with the mortar. I've tried gently spraying it out after each construction day but should I
be taking a grinder or something to the floor and inner walls after all is complete?
Any advice would be great... Thank you!
In the attached pictures you can see some of the excess mortar I am referring to.
By the way I am using the FB Mortar... .seems like great stuff but is not the easiest to work with.
I have literally been mixing 1lb at a time as I go with roughly 2.5 ounces of water to get the right consistency for me.
