Hi All,
I have the Cuore 1000 plus kit and there is a cast piece that starts the chimney that is mortared into the arch. The top of the cylindrical piece has an internal diameter of 5.5" and an OD of 7.125". The solution the manufacturer proposed is taking the black piece you see in the picture - it's a pellet vent pro 4" to 6" increaser and using high temp silicone caulk to fit in on top of the cylindrical chimney piece. I don't like this solution at all, I don't think it will hold.
Any ideas? I'm planning on using 6" pipe for the chimney. Do you think I can use a 6" anchor plate, cut it so it fits to the top of the cylinder and then screw it in? I'm worried about breaking the cast piece as the wall is not that thick. But I'm not sure what else to do. I'd love to hear what the community has to say.
Thanks a bunch.
