castable cement- making a geodesic dome oven?

Has anyone made a oven out of cast molds? a Geodesic dome? i saw one on a facebook page the person made it about 18 years ago and said its still in good shape. it appears he cast 4'' thick triangles and put them together into a dome. would this be easier than using fire bricks? and cheaper? any input would be appreciated. I'm get ready to start a 42'' oven with fire brick and I saw this, I'm intrigued. thanks in advance.

That would be the geodesic dome built by dmun who was a very active member in the early 2000’s. From memory it was only 2” thick and there were problems with the mortar joints not being thick enough, but the dome still stayed in place and continued to fire for many years. This forum was an earlier generation so I don’t know if any of the information on his oven is now retrievable.
