  • Northern England - sourcing materials.

Hi, anyone care to recommend a supplier of firebricks and any other materials I may need (refractory cement, fire clay etc.) for my oven project in Yorkshire?

I reckon you're lucky being in Yorkshire - most of the refractory suppliers seem to be in the midlands and north. YORKSHIRE REFRACTORY PRODUCTS LTD:: intro for example. You'll see that the website isn't very good - lots of areas are 'under construction'. Best to phone I suspect.

I'm awaiting an order to be delivered from their sister company, Midland Refractories, as I write. They were very helpful over the phone, and loads cheaper than any prices I found quoted from other places on the web (eg Kitson Thermal - they were twice the price for insulation products).

Hope it shows up tomorrow so I can crack on at the weekend now we've finally got some nice weather!

I would also recommend Midland Refractories who can supply all of the specialist materials you will need, as well as helpful advice,
