  • Mosaicing my oven

Ok, we are ready to mosaic our oven, but I want to know if I have to use frost resistant tiles as mosaic bits, or can I use the regular mixture of wall tiles I've been collecting...?
I have ordered some good cement based adhesive and grout, which is frost and water resistant..will it be ok? HELP..

These are some of the recent mosaic threads - I thought there was a third one but can't find it right now... but you'll find los more info if you do a search for mosaic.

Cool idea, your head oven is really unique and I think some colour on it would look great! What kind of mosaic are you planning?

        Re: Mosaicing my oven

I have just started to build a mosaic table on the side of my oven and come across the same question. In two tile shops they recommend to use natural stone. Important is that the tiles are sealed before and after grouting so that water can?t get into the stone which would cause cracks when it freezes in the winter.

Let?s see whether that is correct. I am going for a simple design so if it doesn?t work I do it again next year..
