  • Chicken in WFO

The video is in Spanish, and unfortunately only shows a small bit of the oven.

    Re: Chicken in WFO

    Interesting video, BaconGrease,
Makes me wish I had paid better attention in Spanish class in High School. However, if I am understanding correctly what I think he says and what I'm seeing, he is stuffing with prunes, shallots/onions and apples. That's a combination I have not seen before, anyone have experience mixing onions with fruit?

A lot of stuffing recipes mix apples and onions.

I have used both onions and oranges inside chickens and turkeys. Not something you'd necessarily want to eat together, but the flavoring for poultry is wonderful.

Two of my favourite recipes are with apples and onions (see the cooking section for Aelplermagrone and coque au cidre - or rather ostrich I believe, whtever). But the point is, apples and onions actually go together really well.

I agree with the comments, however, in the video recipe the chicken is stuffed with prunes, garlic (unpeeled and mashed) and green apples. No shallots or onions at all.
