Its too cold for pizza she said.

Soooooo, maybe I should build an outdoor fire place......

The whole dimensions will be , 3M wide by 1.2M deep, 2.1M high.
Im hoping the fire box to be about 1.5M wide by .9M high so lots of people can stand in front to get warm by it.
The firebox will be 500mm high off the deck and will have a seat all along the front built into it.

Im doing the opposite to my oven build which had brick quoins and rock fill, this will be rock quoins and brick fill.
Its almost impossible to match any form of brickwork, so I always try to complement it rather than compete.

Heh, you should tell your wife that even -25 Celsius isn't too cold for pizza.

Looking forward to your next masterpiece.

That pic was prolly pre guardian......

Talking of which, I was wondering what I could use on a flat brick faced fireplace to add some zest?

          Some progress today.
I couldnt get enough of all the face bricks I wanted so I did the base in solid reds.
The face bricks I have got for the project are 150 year old hand mades.

                Dear Brickie,

A wood-fired oven would work very well in cold climates, and it won’t have any trouble with snow and very cold temperatures. A modern wood oven is installed using high tech insulation, which holds the heat in when the oven is cooking and keeps the cold out. We have many photographs of ovens working in the snow on Fornobravo.com, and the because of the insulation, the snow never even melts on the outside of the oven enclosure.

It is important that your oven is installed properly, using the insulation that comes with the Forno Bravo modular oven kits, and that it is installed with a waterproof enclosure. The Primavera and Toscana assembled ovens can also work in your your climate.

                Regards,
                Amber

Some more progress today, I filled it with concrete, tomorrow I can get a go at the brickwork.
The plum tree blossom was falling as I was doing it.
