Parrilla construction

Hi to all,

I am a new member to this forum however I have been following it for a long time. I intend to build my WFO with parrilla.

Something similar to this:


My concern is that I wish to roof the parrilla with reinforced concrete and I am afraid that the concrete will not handle the heat from the direct flame of the burning wood. I plan to add steel and polymer fibres to the concrete as a reinforcement.

Can someone please comment on this?

simple solution: Insulate! Insulate Insulate! A few inches of silicon fiber insulation over the oven dome and parrilla will isolate your roof from the heat generated by the oven(s).

Can I use calsil board as an insulation?
