  • First proper full temperature firing

Had a friend around at the weekend for moral support on getting my oven up to full temperature. Managed to get it fully white for the first time & cooked lots of nice pizzas
Oven was inspired by the guidelines on this site.

A few more flames out the front than there should have been, but it's a learning experience..

      Thanks,

My next two tasks are to put together a door and render the outside.

Nice, i still have not fully fired my oven, like the scare fire, 900F+ ( even though it has turned white), i feel like if i create a scorching fire i will crack the hell out of the refractory.

Not sure that it is necessary to raise the oven to kiln temps but when it does get going like that it should handle it if you used the right materials.

A good door makes it a much more versatile thing.

Ditto - If you got hot enough to go white and cook pizzas, you are pretty much cured

Yup, working on making a door, rendering the outside, and turning the steps slope into a tiled slope.
