Re: Firewood Gathering & Little Surprises

I'm interested in the new style box with the super to collect home without disturbing the hive. I do collect a little honey in a small jar in the roof of the hive but its precious little.
This is the small jar, no honey pots, yet, but is full of bees and wax so the box is full and ready to split. Ill leave it a month so the small jar is full and then I'll split it. It already has a good home to go to plenty of flowers and vegetables and area of natives behind it. Only problem is I usually keep the top box due to the danger of the top box brood being dislodged during transport . I'll want to keep the bottom box so I can fit a new type with the super on top.
Apparently though a latticework of masking tape on the top of the empty box will do it. Only one way to find out.
