I really like your idea and would also like to make one of these.
A couple of questions
1. What size diam flue do you have?
2. Where is the nozzle fitted to the flue pipe?
3. Is the nozzle angled down or aimed horizontally?
4. Does it run on mains water pressure or do you turn this down?
5. How much mess is collected at the bottom of the flue, assuming the smoke particles have to end up somewhere?

Flue is 8" stainless steel.
The nozzle is hooked over the top of the chimney and directed downward. It is not affixed which is good since I discovered it may need periodic cleaning.
The water is supplied via garden hose at normal household pressure.
Any droplets that make it to the bottom are collected in a metal pie pan. Not much ends up there.
