, here there's what's called a "bush cord." Typically, it would measure around 5'x5'x10', stacked, but the point is it's a more casual measurement of quite a bit more wood. It's the kind of thing you can buy at a "bush lot" where the trees are actually felled and split.
Travelling a hundred miles to get wood used to be an option. With gas at $3.40/gallon, $400 a chord may be the best you can do now. Perhaps Northwest, into Southern Oregon?
