Hello, I have made in the past different kinds of pizza ovens. Recently I started thinking about a new project and to make things more interesting, I am thinking to cast my own "self-heated pizza stone". In this particular project I'd like to embed Kanthal wire to be able to heat it up with electricity from the inside.
Embedding could be done by cutting grooves later with a diamond blade (probably easier) or by setting the wire before the cast cures, I have not decided yet.
However, I have never cast a firebrick and I am not sure what a good recipe would be. Over the internet there is a lot of questionable information, often aimed at making a forge or some sort of blacksmith furnace. I would like to be able to make my own size (24x18in). I was thinking to make it about one inch thick, but I am open to suggestions.
Thank you
