We are back in Florence and ate at La Piazzetta a few nights back. It has a brick oven (and a wood fired grill). My pizza was a little tough. They definitely overhandled the dough. If you tried the Pizza Napoletana "can you fold it without it cracking or breaking" test, it definitely failed. It took some effort to cut it with a knife and fork. Oh well.
Still, if you are visiting here and are south of the river, it is a good casual family dining spot. The steaks are great, and my daughter's Bistecca Fiorentina was excellent.
A funny aside. We met someone at the restaurant from the tennis club where I play in Santa Rosa, CA. Talk about a small world. They are on travelling and just attended a friend's daughter's wedding. What are the odds of that.
The restaurant is on Viale Europa, south of the river.
