  • Stone Died

When I checked my stone before a bake this morning it had cracked in half!!

Is it normal that they eventually "wear out"?

Luckily I have 2 spares to keep me going.

    Re: Stone Died

    Hi Rossco,

No, they shouldn't "wear out" or break. I had mine in my oven for years without a problem (I have since given it to my brother). Make sure to keep them dry.

It may have happened when I squirted water in during some bread baking. Difficult to prevent water from making contact with the stone when using the spray bottle. Have a new stone in the oven so will see how that goes....
