Im an ex Melbournian who has travelled round the world a few time and it still wins for great and varied, multicultural ,traditional food over everywhere Ive been.
Got to love immigration and good local produce.

GFC hitting every where but Australia has bought unemployed Italian pizza chefs as the next wave of immigration 3 cheers for global economic collapse.

They say a lot of Melbourne's food culture was started by a French embassy chef (i think Burma) who came to Melbourne to escape WW11 and staid
The 53 Olympics had lots of team chefs stay too.

Just happened I am down in Melbourne for my wedding anniversary and saw the news article about the worlds best margherita Napolitano. We booked a table and had dinner at 400 gradi last night😁
It was certainly a fantastic margherita. I have photos which I will post upon my return Friday.

Problem is I cook the best pizza that my friends know in SE Queensland!
I'm really scared about competing with the world

Sorry for the late reply but finally got the pics off my wife.

400 gradi website currently does not have their menu so I cannot remember what the exact pizza on the left was.
It had some sort of Italian broccoli which I wasn't a huge fan of. The sausage also had a bit of gristle in some bits. Was still enjoyable though.

Pizza on the right was of course a margherita and it was absolutely fantastic.

Just noticed on their website they do cooking classes! That would be awesome if only I lived in Melbourne. Maybe next time I'm down
