  • Thanksgiving Beverage Choices

I plan on serving a nice Belgian style Dark Beer with my turkey this year. I am torn between 2. Ommegang Abbey Ale or Brooklyn #2. I think this will pair well with the turkey. If you imbibe, what will you be serving this year?

Both sound great! I suggest a trial run before thanksgiving, just to make sure you have the right beer pairing with turkey.

I can get some Lagunitas here in the Swamp but haven't seen the WTF yet, but will keep my eye out for it.

Nice to hear about Ommegang in other parts of the country . I live an hour 1/2 from the brewery and we have made a few trips out for a tour whenever family comes to visit that are "beer fans". I like cider and red wine myself. Probably Stella Artois Cidre on Thursday and a bottle of Tempranillo.

I've enjoyed every style of beer that they've produced!

It is all good. Just some better than others. Some of the beers from micro-breweries is excellent. Those micro-breweries being located in various domestic locations, like the shed, the spare bench room in the kitchen etc. Depending on the limit of the sense of humour of the resident female.
