  • Anthony Bordain Instanbul and Lahmajun

I just watched the Anthony Bordain Istanbul episode. They had a pizza like item called Lahmajun. It looked like ground lamb or beef with spiced and vegetables on a pizza dough and cooked in a hot wood fired oven. Then he rolled it up with Arugula and lemon and ate it like a sandwich and some other toppings and ate it like a sandwich. I found one recipe here:
    Turkish Cuisine: Lahmajun (lahmacun)

Looks like it could be an Armenian dish in origin.
I found this picture on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lahmacun)...

I will be trying this once it warms up outside...

Yum. I buy them from a local Armenian bakery -- hot from the oven. Yum! I never thought of adding fillings; I just eat them fast and plain. They don't seem to difficult to make but I've never tried. I look forward to hearing about your exeprience whenever you get the chance to make some.
