A pine cone pattern is cool too!

Somehow I didn't have enough room on the loaf, so my first efforts at a fan pattern turned out like this...

(only the crust was quite a bit darker than it looks here)

I'm still fighting with my camera sometimes in getting the color to look right too, Frances.

I lent out my whole grain bread book and forgot to write down the recipe I wanted, so I'll have to wait to bake that one for a few days!

Maybe I'll make more hazelnut and fig bread. That got better as it sat, by the way. Never got dry. (of course, it didn't sit around all that long, either)
