When I do it in the UK we call it a warmie....but you drink half of it before you impale the chicken on the can.

The beer can chicken is one of my fav oven recipes - we have to wrestle to get the chicken in the oven - it's a major operation (cue mission impossible theme) because the oven is a pizza oven, door is not high enough! First time we did it I left a smoking piece of wood in ...... talk about smoked chicken!!! Second time I did it 'properly' it was really nice!!! Only took about 45mins. Never tried it in a conventional oven. AND NO DON'T DRINK THE REMAINING BEER!!!!! YUK :P
