With the oven going for a good 3 years now, I've been getting more daring with what I'm throwing in there. I've done a Christmas dinner in there before, but wanted to take it to the next level.
The plan:
- 1 x 3kg Pork belly
- 2 x 3kg Legs of lamb
- 1 x 2kg Beef roast
- Whole damn tray of roast potatoes
- Yorkshire pudding
All to be done in the wood oven, the rest would be done on the gas hob as I plain just ran out of space. I cooked for 19 people and it was awesome.
Everything covered with foil for the first 3 hours, then to finish everything off, I took the lids off.
Roast beef was cooked in a chicken ceramic pot to keep it all super soft
Lamb was cooked in a tray with garlic, mint and a few other items.
Pork belly was scored and cooked with garlic, salt and pepper with some olive oil
Roast potatoes were just plain bloody awesome.
Yorkshire pudding - Tricky as hell to cook in the oven and I had to keep the door in place as to stop them collapsing.
With the above I made a roasted garlic and herb gravy, peas and glazed carrots, Brussel sprouts.
