Try the rumford website at HeatStop
They list it for $50 plus $35 shipping. They also have a dealer in Carson City - Carson Masonry that you could try.
By the way, I'm planning on a 42" and will taper the bricks to reduce mortar usage, I was wondering on how many bags I may use?
If you can get it locally, you should buy one bag at a time because it does have a tendency to wick out humidity and develop lumps. I used one bag, but I cut everything. A semi cut oven (brick sides cut, but not tapered) should use two or three, depending on how deep you lump it up. I don't think you need to mortar all four inch depth of a half brick oven, in other words leave it a little porcupine like.
Thanks RC - Carson Masonry is where I got the absurd quote. I?m thinking that it was for a pallet or a larger quantity. Or they may be running with the Barnum and Bailey mantra. In regard to how much we need, not sure. I was going to buy two bags and go from there.
