  • It's a nice warm day

The other day, my youngest and I drove 40 miles to take one of our pets to the vet. Thanks to good advice from a mate, we struck it lucky with a vet who works out of an old rundown house, and hasn't got a load of overheads to pass on to the customers. I was so impressed with the remarkably small bill for the work that I suggested on the way home that we could perhaps invest some of the savings in a couple of store bought pizzas for the evening meal. So we went to the local non-chain joints that is reputed to be very good. Sorry to say, they were just crap, really. Hate to see what not so good one is like. My son usually maintains there is no such thing as a bad pizza, but even he said these were horrible.

So, I've been hanging out for a real pizza.
It ain't gonna happen soon. Here is the shade temperature, measured in the shade in degrees centigrade on two separate type K thermocouples, in front of my oven.
Christmas lunch will be cold cuts and seafood, inside the house (we usually eat outside in the shade) under the airconditioner.
Yes, I know it;s a very 1st world problem I'm grizzling about. It is times like this I wonder how the less fortunate survive. Click image for larger version

    G'day Mick
    The heat comes in handy.
This lots just been cut to usable lengths. The heat will dry it quite nicely
This lot has splits in the ends already and the bark only needs a hit with the back of the axe to separate it. It's only been cut down 4 months ago.
Recon it will be used in the next 6 months. No worries.

G'day Mick Hydronic what tha. Got a log splitter. He's 15 and his dad thinks he's soft. But he's like ever other 15 year old. He's hungry and my wife feeds him. He lacks funds so I pay him. He's already processed this lot so don't tell him there's a hydrolic log splitter Regards dave

Holy Sh#$, I was just complaining about two feet of snow on my oven. I think I would rather have the snow than that kind of heat.

Just looked at the Christmas weather forecast.
Christmas Eve 41C/106F, no wind, no rain.
Christmas Day 29C/84F, 18 knots wind, 60% chance of 1/2 inch of rain.
Yay! we can live with that.

Well, here it is raining . Severe thunderstorms and tornado watches through Chrismas eve . Then more rain is in the forecast through the Monday after Christmas . At least the kids will have enough water for a traditional Mississippi Snow Man.................................
