Clearance guideline...."Chimneys shall extend 3 feet above the high point of roof penetration, and at least 2 feet higher than any portion of the roof within
    10 feet, measured horizontally."

    Hope that helps.

Been thinking about the chimney. I just may fabricate a chimney cap/top plate and just secure a 8" flue into the cap. That way the flue will go out the side of the fascia/roof. What do you guys think.

Thanks alot for the heads up, i think we will change that out when we get a chance. How hot do you think the bricks can get at the top of the chimney?

Like the further use of the old brick around the posts. Is there plans to use more in the outdoor kitchen, or have the supply finally been used.
    regards Dave
Thanks Dave, i still have lots of them bricks left over, i will create a planter wall right across the trees along the perimeter of the property.

We need to add 3 rows of bricks to the chimney to gain some height.

Some update from the past few days.

Roof shingles of the main patio was completed.

Started wrapping the posts with those antique bricks i still have lots left over. First i applied roof tar on posts of avoid termite and rot damage.

Then we build the structure/roof over the oven/counter, still not done.

Base plates for the metal posts.

It will be covered, just with a separate structure, a flat roof will attach to the side of the beam, Because of the property line and how the build has been set up it would not have worked out with the main structure, so well have to build a smaller roof/cover that attaches.

Here are some updates from the weekend.

Finished the framing, installed the plywood sheeting for the roof, applied primer to all wood members and added center posts. Next we must install the roof shingles, run electricity, install light fixture, paint, brick post pillars, build the cover over the oven and countertop, run water to sink, install sink, build BBQ area/cover, grills etc. stain countertops, seal counter and bricks, install pavers, run gas line, build fire pit. Alot of work left to do...
