Re: My 42" Pompeii Oven build, Northeast Ohio
118 - Method for cutting angled outer arch bricks.
This wasn't quite an exact science like the dome bricks using the wetsaw jig.
I used shims to angle the brick and kept cutting until I had the correct angle.
I only had 6 or 7 of these to cut.

120 - Outer arch form.
I cut the forms from scrap 3/4" plywood and screwed them together w/ 2x4's as spacers to give me the correct distance to hold the arch bricks & half bricks in place.
Here you can see how tricky the angles will be for the outer arch to meet the vent walls for a flared vent landing.

124 - Framing for countertop.
I'll fill & level w/ concrete to just under where the granite countertop will sit.
If I recall, the countertop installers wanted the concrete ~1/2" from the bottom of the granite.

130 - Vent plate base complete.
The Duratech anchor plate will sit inside the round opening & get screwed into the firebrick base (make sure you drill pilot holes for this step).

132 - Concrete countertop leveling & vent plate base complete.
I removed the arch forms for the first time.
It was exciting to see the inside of the dome and vent landing for the first time.
