This is my second lifetime oven. The first was a rudimentary clay oven but is still in operation 20 years on!

I have decided to make this "real" pizza oven but have run into problems sourcing insulation materials in this region of Mexico. More on that later.

Great start on the base. If you have not downloaded the free eplans from Forno Bravo, do so, they are a good baseline for designing your oven.

        Hi Russell,

Thanks. Yes, I have the plans and I am using your build (from the photos) as a guide, especially the floor and first course.

I managed to find some of the critical materials but not the ideal solution.
          • Only 4 panels of FoamGlass at 2" thickness. 4" is optimal so I had to fill in the rest with LIMECRETE.

I am advancing slowly. Probably due to getting into stride with materials, methods and tools.
