Re: Hansen Horno
Very nice sketch, Mike! I like it. I was planning on putting the stone on the bottom half, but I may have to reconsider. Is that just siding on the bottom? I especially like the roof design.

Man...I'm liking the sound of that copper roof...I was going with slate, but maybe I should look into copper. I bet it looks great after a little weather exposure.

Re: Hansen Horno
Thanks everyone!! I really don't have a clear plan for finishing it, but I will likely wait until next year to do that (Okay, who am I kidding? There are still 3 months until the snow flies!). Some type of gable house with rock facing. My wife wants a copper roof, but she has no idea how much that costs! I just hope I can keep it dry through the winter.
I've said it before, but I must give thanks to Ken, Robert, Jim, and others who inspired and helped me in many ways. I'm mostly copying those who came before me. That's what makes this forum so great!

Wow, what a great job. Pretty work right to the end.
I especially like the flower!
My enthusiasm was waning as I got to the outer arch.
I can't wait to see how you finish it out!

Very beautiful!
How are you going to do the outside?

Re: Hansen Horno
The chimney base is not attached yet. I think I'll use some insulation between it and the bricks, as others have recommended, and secure it with 4 tapcon screws. Then I'll probably spread my last bag of HeatStop onto the dome and let it all sit for a week.
