  • BOTM Feb 08 Nominations

It's still winter in the northern half of the planet, though we've had a couple of nice days in Northern California. The yard is drying out and I have a pile of CMUs and a fireplace kit that I keep moving around to see what looks best. That must be a sign of spring coming.

Also, the AT&T golf tournament is this week, and there are cars everywhere. Sometimes it's pouring with rain at the old Crosby Invitational, and sometimes it's nice. So far it is sunny and mild this year.

Perhaps this will be the year's last winter version of Best of the Month.

    We are open for nominations.

I think you meant that to be "08". In regard to Pebble Beach - my son owes me a round there when he graduates, looking forward to it (the golf and the end to the "daddy plan").

I'm not much for nominations for unfinished ovens.

But this stand is so beautiful I must nominate Mitch aka lobo_nz

Just take a look at the thread.

I got the crabs a few times, (but that was in the ocean).

I nominate Robert for his dogged determination and working in brutal conditions.

I will second both of those nominations, lobo's stand is second to none and the ludite (Jeff) is simply hilarious. I love the Ausie spin on the language as well as his no worries fun attitude.

              In the ocean or overseas?

              I gotta second this one.
Robert is combating bad weather and still doing great work.

I'm still writing 07 on checks as well. I've fixed that. There will be more to pick from in the coming months.

I want to nominate Acoma's 6th course photo. The blue tarp popping through the oven entry arch is cool, and the perfect brickwork feels soothing. There is something nice about the exactness and evenness of the photo.

                    James,

I'll second the nomination for Acoma. Great brick work.

                          Hey Dutch,

We are definitely doing door prizes for reaching new membership levels. I just checked, and you get a nifty (Italian-made, commercial-grade, blue, big, sharp) pizza cutter at 250 postings. I'll bet Sir Robin's minstrels would be impressed.

Drop us an email at info at fornobravo dot com, and we will send it out.
