    Hi JR,

We are checking the settings on VBulletin. If there's an automatic time-out, we'll disengage it.

I've been getting kicked off the site and back to the human verification page and forced to log in again. This is happening after around 30 minutes of inactivity. Is the forum going to require more frequent log-ins, or is this something temporary?

    Forum Members:

We believe the slow response issue stems from the analytics we added with the new Forum. We are in the process of reconfiguring those elements and, after an approximate 24-hour time period for the reconfiguration to run, we anticipate a return to normal page load times. Thank you for your patience!

Thanks JRPizza, I thought I was just being impatient with the site's recent "constipation" . Sluggish response and slow loading of messages/notices/posts etc. through my Internet connection as well. Using the current version of Firefox and Chrome (on a Windows 10 machine) with the same slow response times. My other sites are loading normally, so I have to assume a connection issue with this site.

I noticed last week that I would do a post preview and the connection icon for the site would spin & spin with the message connecting. It was the same with the final post...a long time to actually post, such that I thought I'd have to close the browser & log back in to make the post work. Although I waited what seemed an excessive amount of time, all my posts did finally complete.

Hope to hear if there is an actual issue or if it's just a case of "bad bits" . (Incidentally, although this post preview was working better than last week, the final post took over 40 seconds to connect & insert into the thread.)

The site seems to be rather constipated . Probably not the proper technical term, but extremely slow loading times, multiple redundant posts, etc. I ended up with several duplicates yesterday. I hope we aren't heading for a crash! Can any of the mods offer an explanation?

    Thx Mitch.

look forward to forthcoming solutions. May be an idea to post status updates from time to time on the more important fixes thatare still outstanding .

fyi my aim with my thread was to have a detailed photographic depiction of the build. This has been lost with this update.

All, the thumbnail issue is not forgotten; we are investigating the cause and how to get the thumbnail of the file to appear in a post. The missing posts happened during a test of the security upgrade on Monday, 11/16, which was explained in the announcement that is exhibited at the top of every page. We are investigating how to restore the posts from 11/10-11/16. Thank you for your patience!

Colin, the day they had the latest glitch it seems like they lost quite a few posts, not just yours. I had asked if they were gone forever but that was a few posts back and I know they are busy. It's probably not easy running a forum this big without the occasional hiccup.

I feel the thumb nail problem has been forgotten. I also recently received a message from admin on this thread saying the problem had been rectified. I commented that it hasn't been fixed.

It's interesting that those posts are no longer on this thread. The thumbnail issue needs to be fixed for all historic threads prior to this update.

    Hi Dave,

I just ran a series of tests on my iPhone 5s under my registered user login. While logged in, I can pinch/zoom, start a new topic and post a reply with no issues. I'll run tests with an iPhone 6 as well.

We appreciate your participation and welcome any suggestions to continue to improve the Forum experience. No ex-communications here!

    Gday
Sorry JR to jump in over your Question.
I've not been posting much lately on all the forums due to my own personal reasons. Alls good, life, like this spell checker sometimes gets in the way.
I've given an answer to a post. Nothing much has changed has it.
It took a human verification required notice to copy paste and save what I've written!
Log off log on, find post again, paste. All of this to post a reply. Really?
It's not an I-phone thing and yes I've tried on a I-phone 6 and the bugs are still there no button to make a new thread. As soon as you log in you lose the ability to pinch and zoom.
I'm not a complaining Aussie! Please. I've been on this forum for number of years now. I'm not an angel but I like to help where I can. But what's going on? It's definitly coming up winter. Course it is in the Northern hemisphere. But the forums dead. Even the Aussie section is conspicuous in its absence. It's coming up summer of course it should be full of questions.
Ex communicate me, burn my build at the steak ( yum steak, burn, rehearse seare, Tuscan grill ) but please. Please. Please make this operate as a forum again.
    Regards dave

Mitch, are the missing posts gone forever, or is there a chance they will be recovered?

To clarify for Forum members: if you are having a similar issue with images, clear your cache and the issue should resolve.

Mine seemed to be working right today. But, I just cleared the cache anyway.

Moving over to here so as not to fill up my build page - I cleared my cache and the poltergeists seem to be appeased. All my photos are appearing as they should.
