And even better I have changed the color scheme back to the old version pre update. Now I feel at home.

    Cheers

    Hi Mitch

Let me be the second to say thanks for rectifying this issue. AS you are aware I have been quite focal about this and more than appreciate your efforts in getting them returned. I will return and again be available to hope this new builder and update my build shortly [outdoor area completion]. Like Litekeeper says it does make the historical posts regain their significance for new builders when researching, as he so eloquently put it.

Thank you so very very much you have made MANY MANY of us regain trust in this site again.

Hi Mullins, not sure where the /community/forum page is - how did you get to it? You can change the color settings in your profile either through "Custom Settings" or "Edit Settings/Account/Forum Skin" which has different color templates to choose from.

    Hi Mitch,

Can i ask why there are different color templates on this page http://www.fornobravo.com/community/ and on this page http://www.fornobravo.com/community/forum ? Is there any way we can amend how we see the colors? It may just be me as I am partially red and green color blind, but the first link is easy on the eye and the text is easy to read. The second link it is very difficult to make out the writing with the red and the grey and jangles on the eyes...

Possibly just me, but thought I would throw is out there...

Great work on getting the thumbnails back by the way!

+1 to the forum's cloud storage capabilities I "lost" quite a few pictures that I was able to recover from the forum. The files were smaller in terms of size/resolution, but at least I had copies for historical purposes.

As a side note I was also able to save the photos back to my computer as I had accidentally deleted them, the fornobravo copies were my only copies, so many thanks.

    Hi JR,

I'm assuming you're trying to upload a zip file (?). I have increased the file size limit. Please let me know if it doesn't work.

Mitch, another question on uploading files. It appears there is a 100kb limit if uploading a file, but pictures can be quite a bit larger and still upload. Do you know why the limit is so small for attachments? The file I am trying to upload is about 140kb.

Thanks Mitch! That gets me back to 7-24-15, which covers most of my posts

    Hi JR,

I will look into this Activities issue. In the meantime, you should be able to to go to "About" in your profile and at the bottom, click "Find All Posts" and all of your posts should show there.

Speaking of history, I was trying to look back on some old posts, but when I search my user profile for activities with the filters "Filtered by:All Time, Source - All" I don't see any activity earlier than 12-27-15. Does anybody else have any missing history? I used to be able to see back to even before the site "upgrade".

    Bpal,

Welcome to the forum. That archive is a cool link. It has been offered before on the forum. I have used it myself. The first link to it, by JoeyVelderrain, went a little further back in time. I was able to get a recipe for "apple galette" that has long since been deleted by the very impressive lady who had origionally posted it.

I truly believe that the thumbnails for the historical threads will be restored very soon. I understand that they are running some tests this weekend to make sure that the conversion of those threads does not cause any ill effects to the forum. We definately don't won't another...............

For those looking for viewing historical build threads you may have some luck with the Internet Archive. There are old snapshots of the Forno Bravo website including the forums. Sometimes the pages are present and sometimes they are not. If the page is present then the thumbnails will be present also.

But you still miss my point, but I get the first part of your response. but you state - for older thumbnails pre update- that they migrated files as attachment file names. My question all along in this thread is WHEN WILL THIS BE RECTIFIED and a fix be implemented that restores the previous thumbnails.

It is the history of this website that has been lost, its fluidity, the ease of following a build, that being able to see the thumbnails while reading the text allows a newbie and oldie for that matter understand the build process and explanations. Now you have to switch between the viewing the photo and reading the text. Can't you guys clearly see this as a problem and get the problem rectified.

I am an IT consultant and it is not the difficult to fix.

It seems to me this will not happen I believe it is essential and it would be great for others on this forum make the same complaint so that it is rectified AS A PRIORITY. You have the links to files so run a script to load the actual thumbnails for each of those files with missing thumbnails.

ALL : - Come on lets petition for this to be fixed.
    Colin and All:

I want to assure you that we continue to grapple with the issue with the thumbnails. The information from our agency shows that it isn't as black and white as one may think because the database structure in the updates has changed so it appears that all old attachments are being placed into the attachment table regardless of their file extension. We want to migrate the correct data from the attachment table to the photo table but also need to make sure there are no effects in any other areas of the Forum such as the albums and user photos. We appreciate your patience and encourage constructive feedback as we continue to respond to your concerns.

    Thank you,

    Mitch
