Re: Pompeii Philippines
Any luck with your oven?
I have a small farm north of Puerto Princessa that I have finally finished most of the improvements for now. All the cooking is done on coal from coconut wood stove. Any kind of oven is completely alien to the locals.
I am ready to start building a small oven or more precisely have one built for me correctly. Any luck sourcing materials in Palawan? There no volcanic activity on the Island so that component woud need to be imported. Hopefully someone already has started sourcing that.

Aloha Pompeii Pizza Oven assembly
Thanks everyone who checked up on me! The oven has been running successfully for 2 years now. We do 11 kilos of dough 2-3 times a week for the orphanage, plus pizza, roasts, duck and chicken!

Re: Pompeii Philippines
I appreciate your quick response and attempt to help. Maybe you are not familiar with Phillipines geography and geology. Its the same country politically but thats about it. Bohol is in the ring of fire while Palawan is very remote transportationwise.Originally posted by UtahBeehiver View PostGo to Lancer's thread in the Australia section, he is built a massive 52" oven in Bohol. He can give you insight on what resources he had to work with.

But thanks for your advice. My question is more to has anyone solved these materials deficits in Palawan specifically.

Yeah not wanting to bake my own bricks. I am considering making it a commercial oven - used everyday and want to insure durability. Found a Chinese supplier and he wants $1000 for 800 bricks. The price is ok but the shipping will kill me :-(Originally posted by UtahBeehiver View PostLance built a very large party pizza oven in the Philippines. Here is a link to his build. It will give you an idea of material resources.
