Second to last coat that I am putting on. I am debating on using a black dye with my last coat of Thoroseal for the dome. Any thoughts?

One of the many pizzas I made on my first real firing of the oven.

As you've only finished the vermicrete layer a week ago there is bound to be plenty of water in that layer still. If you cover over this with a waterproofing material (I'm assuming that is what Thoroseal is) you risk locking in the water and cracking the outer shell. Best to give the oven plenty of firing before sealing it up. Try throwing a sheet of plastic over it to see if water condenses on the underside.

I have not applied the Thoroseal as of yet and am waiting towards the end of September before doing so.
