    Thank you so much for this forum!

    Oven is assembled and ordered a few bags of Heat Stop dry mix and wanted to use this to cover the oven and fill the gaps. Would this be wise as I see most using a stucco covering with a heat blanket. Because of the thickness of the dome wall (2" plus 1" of firebrick) I truly didn't see the heat blanket as necessary.

    What can I mix with the Heat Stop to properly secure gaps and protect from weather?

    If you do not put the insulating blanket on you will have a hard time reaching pizza temps. You also stand a big chance of cracking the dome due to temp differences. I chose to not really start my curing till after I insulated.
