Chimney to oven connection

Hi,

How do you suggest I connect the chimney to the oven? I understand the ideal method is using an anchor plate but I cannot find anything locally. Would placing the chimney and mortaring it in lead to cracking? If so how can I mount the chimney safely and securely without the use of an anchor plate?

Where are you based? I’m building an oven in Scotland and coincidentally was only yesterday shopping for the flue kit. I think I’ve found a company with all the flue components and what looks like an appropriate 200mm internal diameter anchor plate.

I'm in Malta, shipping costs tend to be prohibitive, but thanks for the interest . We ended up mortaring the chimney in place. We used a 150mm chimney as the oven is 27 inches internally.

I ended up ordering a 150mm flue also, for my 850mm oven. Your build looks very well put together.
