This shows the rebar tie ins we installed in the footings so we could tie the slab in. The post brackets all had to be set at the same height which was more difficult than I planned but it all worked out. One ended up being about a 1/2" lower than the others but not a big deal.

Concrete is next. We have a second step which wraps around two sides to account for the slight slope. #3 rebar on 2' centers.

I tunneled under our driveway cross walk to get the line over in close proximity to the meter. This was a helluva lot harder than I thought it would be. Finally got it but what a pain. I used all poly gas line and unions.

Trenching for the gas line. We installed a 1" line to support the new appliances and ensure we didn't lack volume. The gas company installed a new meter specifically because of what we are planning.

Hired framers to come in and set the trusses, sheet it and do the roof tie in.

Setting the beams. This was pretty terrifying as I rented a material lift but the beams were so long it was totally dodgey. We got them up in one afternoon though which was a solid accomplishment.

Thanks for the heads up with the pictures. All forums seem to be a little bit different so good to know.

FYI, if you want to attach multiple pics to your post, you can reduce the pix size to about 1.25 mb then you can attach about 5 pics per post.

We set the posts in the brackets so we could measure the tops for final trimming. I purchased a Bosch laser to help with a lot of this project knowing I was going to do framing, tile and other layout and hoped it would pay for itself. Turns out it did. It was ideal for figuring out how to trim the posts to the exact height (I am sure professional framers know a better way to do this) and they turned out perfect.

Beams and posts were delivered. Beams were several hundred pounds apiece and we humped them around the yard foot by foot to get them into position.
