  • High Temp gloves

I was reading through Les' post where he talked about getting some gloves for working with the hot oven. I have a pair of the aluminized gloves from Grainger (Part number 5T328).

Overall they work well and preserved the hair on the back of my arms (when I was wearing them.) We use the same model at work (a copper smelter) and they perform well. The leather side will get hot, so beware.

One other note: they will leave a slight funky smell on them due to the leather treating chemicals - it comes off with soap and water. After a few wears, the odor decreases rapidly.

I've been using padded pair of welders gloves. So far they've worked a treat and are cheap.

Welding gloves here, also....the long kind (stick welding), protects my forearm when feeding a big fire on the side of the oven.
